Charlotte Tilbury Receives MBE for Services to the Beauty Industry

BADGE OF HONOR: Cosmetics entrepreneur Charlotte Tilbury came face to face with one of her inspirations on Tuesday when Queen Elizabeth handed her an MBE, or Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, at Buckingham Palace.
The honor recognizes Tilbury’s contribution and services to the beauty and cosmetics industry over the past 26 years. Tilbury was among the names listed in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June.

“Today has been one of the most magical days of my life,” Tilbury said. “I am so delighted and thrilled to receive this honor, especially from Her Majesty, the Queen who has been an endless source of inspiration to me! To be recognized for my contribution to the beauty industry is a dream come true.”
The makeup artist launched her brand, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, in 2013 and since then has expanded internationally selling across the U.K., America, Canada, Europe, Asia and most recently the Middle East.

Yves Saint Laurent Documentary Traces Last Years of Designer’s Career

PARIS — He’s always by the fashion designer’s side, often preceding him as he enters the room, and doesn’t seem to age as years go by.
Moujik, Yves Saint Laurent’s black-and-white French bulldog, seems to be the only character that resists the passing of time in “Celebration,” a documentary by Olivier Meyrou on the couturier’s last years at his fashion house, out on Nov. 14 in France.
“As the legend goes — I don’t know if it’s true — in order not to affect Yves Saint Laurent, every time the dog died it was replaced on the very night and kept the same name,” said Meyrou in a statement. “Moujik was eternal.”
Though shot between 1998 and 2001, the documentary is only now seeing the light of day.
The depiction of an aging, ailing Saint Laurent moments before his departure from the fashion house in 2002 is said to have incensed Pierre Bergé, Saint Laurent’s life and business partner, who blocked the release of the film.
“Whereas we had total freedom during the filming between 1998 and 2001, I realized once the film was over that Pierre Bergé and I didn’t have the same idea of what a documentary is,” explained Meyrou.

Charlotte McKinney Talks Wolf & Whistle Collaboration and Learning Not to Compare Herself to Other People

CONFIDENTLY SPEAKING: Model and actress Charlotte McKinney is trying her hand at lingerie with a capsule collection for Wolf & Whistle.
Many know the influencer for her roles in “Baywatch,” “Flatliners,” and ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” but designer is a new moniker. “I have been looking for a lingerie line to collaborate with. It’s something that has always been a big part of my life — underwear. For me, it was kind of a no-brainer,” McKinney said. “This was the first time I had free creative control and not just being a model walking on a shoot. They were my pieces and my vision.”
Offered in sizes 2 to 12, and 32 to 36 B through G, the collection is meant to send a message of body confidence, she said. “Any girl of any size can put this line on and feel sexy and feel good. It is definitely an empowering kind of statement.” she said.
But keeping things really simple was the toughest part. “I wanted to just strip it down and keep it really clean and nice,” McKinney said. “People always want more and more [details.] For me, with lingerie, I think less is more.”
