Brands Distancing Themselves From Louise Linton Instagram Post

Valentino has no qualms in denying any ties to Louise Linton after the new wife of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin posted on Instagram an image of herself exiting a government plane and provided a slew of designer hashtags.
A spokeswoman said plainly that “Louise Linton did not receive any gifted merchandise, compensation or loans from Valentino” when asked whether the company had any formal business interest in being tagged in a late Monday post by Linton.
The actress, whose most high-profile role to date is a 2007 appearance on “CSI: NY,” is also not affiliated in any way with and has received no free merchandise from Tom Ford, a brand she also mentioned in her post.
With tags like “#rolandmouret pants,” “#tomford sunnies,” “#hermesscarf,” and “#valentinorockstudheels #valentino,” it seemed like Linton was taking after the growing droves of digital influencers that are compensated for mentioning brands and their products on social media. Instagram is particularly popular for branded influencer-created content.

Representatives of Roland Mouret and Hermès could not be reached for comment on the post.
Linton has since deleted the post and made her account private after a response to an Instagram comment critical of

ART FOR AUCTION: London’s Sotheby’s will mount an exhibition and auction of works from Mario Testino’s personal art collection in September.
“I always wanted to collect things that weren’t like me,” Testino said. “I’ve always been excited by everything that makes me look at something differently.”
The Peruvian photographer has curated a showcase of more than 300 works from his own private collection. This includes paintings, photographs, works on paper and sculptures. The starting estimates of the lots up for live auction range from 10,000 pounds for “System of Display, D” by Adam Pendleton, to 800,000 pounds for Tauba Auerbach’s “Untitled.” Also to be auctioned are works by the likes of Wolfgang Tillmans, Gilbert & George and Anselm Kiefer.
“Personal and historical memory are common conceptual motifs in the works here,” said Brandei Estes, Sotheby’s head of photographs in London. “Inviting us to challenge our common preconceptions of what we understand to be true and real. Pablo Taps French Actress Ana Girardot for Capsule

FAMILY AFFAIR: Pablo, the sister line of French fashion brand Gérard Darel, has tapped actress Ana Girardot to design a capsule collection that will launch in early September.
Girardot at a recent preview of the line at a hôtel particulier in Montmartre in the north of Paris said former Pablo collaborator and fellow actress Clémence Poésy encouraged her to take up the challenge. In terms of style muses, she credited her grandmother. “I hope it’s not going to age the brand’s image,” she laughed. “But I’ve always known where my inspiration comes from. She’s a true French woman, very elegant and laid-back, with a form of natural elegance and a knack for associations that I have always admired.”
Day options include bandanna-print dresses, chunky knits and a fleece-lined corduroy denim jacket with a bohemian vibe. After-dark items include a midnight-blue velvet jumpsuit that Girardot wore to a recent movie premiere, a cape dress and a little black dress with an open back. Her other personal favorites include a hooded cape coat embroidered with a constellation design climbing up the back. “When I’m wearing it, I feel like Peau d’Âne. You could wear anything underneath — even nothing at all,” said the actress, referring to
