7 Details You Probably Missed From the Oscars 2019 Red Carpet

Among all the standout red carpet looks at the 2019 Oscars, many stars also left their mark on the red carpet in ever-so-subtle ways.
While most of the red carpet attention went to Lady Gaga — and her legendary 128-carat Tiffany yellow diamond — other stars made bold yet discreet moves with their accessories. For instance, Jason Momoa, who showed up to the Oscars red carpet wearing a pink Fendi suit matching with his wife, Lisa Bonet, complemented his look with a customized Fendi pink scrunchie.
Frances McDormand, last year’s winner for Best Actress, tapped into the red carpet pink dress trend with her Maison Valentino Spring Couture 2019 gown. But the real highlight of her look was her bright yellow Birkenstock Arizona sandals, designed by Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli.

Jonathan Anderson Debuts Third Uniqlo Collaboration in Paris

PARIS — Third time’s a charm for Japanese retailer Uniqlo, who launched the spring 2019 edition of the line created in collaboration with British designer Jonathan Anderson on Monday in Paris.
“The J.W. Anderson for Uniqlo collection symbolizes our shared vision, which is to offer elegance, simplicity, timeless comfort and individuality through our Uniqlo LifeWear concept,” said Taku Morikawa, global director of Uniqlo and ceo of parent company Fast Retailing, speaking during a press conference at a gilded townhouse.
Anderson had fused classic British pieces — such as the striped rugby sweater, the raincoat or the striped scarf — with Uniqlo’s knowledge of technical fabrics.
“All the Uniqlo fabrics are incredibly researched, which I think is incredibly rare on the high street. Not a lot of companies invest that much time for that, aside from those in the sports sector,” said the designer during the press conference.

Each window display features original video content lasting 24 hours created by artist Mike “Beeple” Winkelmann, who also designed a series of exclusive prints for the spring collection.
The displays were recently unveiled in stores in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Milan and Tokyo.

Welcome to Village Jacquemus

PARIS — If there is such a thing as influencer catnip, then a colorful model village is probably it.
Guests at the Jacquemus fall 2019 show took turns posing in front of the different facades created by the designer to stage his collection, modeled on a village on the island of Murano, near Venice.
There was a shop window showcasing the designer’s key accessories, a florist selling colorful bouquets of tulips, clothing lines, potted plants and even a grocery shop with a heaving cart of citrus fruit.
One of the many bright young things posing in front of the makeshift houses was Violette d’Urso, the 19-year-old daughter of supermodel Inès de la Fressange, who was snapping her on her iPhone.
“Jacquemus is sacred to her,” said the model. “I remember one day I was on television with Simon, and she kept texting me saying, ‘Tell him I love him !’”
Another famous mother was in attendance — a mother-to-be, that is. Sitting next to influencer Jeanne Damas, Tina Kunakey, who is expecting her first child with actor Vincent Cassel, was blissfully cradling her belly while posing for pictures on the front row.
“I chose Jacquemus for my wedding because I absolutely love the brand,” said the

Tiny Handbags Are Still One Big Fashion Trend at Paris Fashion Week

Simon Porte Jacquemus gave the micro bag a new meaning at his fall 2019 show in Paris on Monday.
The designer, who frequently shows handbags on the smaller side, debuted at his ready-to-wear show an even smaller version of his “It” accessory — Le Saq Chiquito — in a size that looks fit for a doll.

Jacquemus showed his signature accessory in hues of red, white and orange, some accented with larger straps to be worn as a crossbody bag. The designer also noted that he has sold “tens of thousands” of the micro bag since introducing the style. He had first debuted the bag on his Instagram ahead of the show, where he showed off how small the bag really is placed in the palm of his hand.
