Beyoncé’s Iconic Coachella Performance Is Coming to Netflix

Beyoncé is bringing her iconic Coachella performance to Netflix.
The singer has teamed with the streaming service for a new documentary, titled “Homecoming,” which gives an in-depth look at Beyoncé’s set at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music Arts Festival.
After releasing a vague promotional image on Sunday that hinted at an upcoming project, Netflix confirmed the documentary this morning, dropping a trailer for the film on multiple platforms with a release date slated for April 17.

With her multiple custom Balmain outfit changes, intricate choreography and elaborate set design, Beyoncé’s Coachella set, which had a collegiate theme throughout, is one of the most memorable in the festival’s history, and notably, it marks the first time a black woman headlined the festival.
The Netflix trailer starts off with a voiceover by Maya Angelou, showing behind-the-scenes and rehearsal shots from the Coachella set. It also features cameos by Beyoncé’s three children, seven-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, and twins Rumi and Sir Carter.
The trailer also shows Beyoncé’s performances during her Coachella set with husband Jay Z, sister Solange and fellow Destiny’s Child members, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, who joined Beyoncé to sing hits like “Lose My Breath” and “Say My Name.”

Tanya Taylor Names Crystal Slattery President

To help build the future of her company, Tanya Taylor has turned to someone in her past.
The designer and founder has hired Crystal Slattery, whom she first got to know working at Elizabeth and James, as president of her company.
Taylor previously handled the president responsibilities and she remains executive officer and creative director. She recalled starting her career at Elizabeth and James (which was then licensed to the Jaya Apparel Group.) When she left there seven-and-a-half years later, Taylor was impressed with how as president Slattery had built the business. Taylor also liked her vision and leadership for the brand. So much so that she said she e-mailed her husband, “’One day I will hire Crystal Slattery.’ He said, ‘OK, sure. That may be a little down the line.’”
Slattery previously worked as president of the contemporary division at Jaya Apparel Group, overseeing the Cinq à Sept and Likely divisions. Prior to that, she had headed up the Elizabeth and James business.
As her own business has grown “a lot” in the last year-and-a-half, Taylor said she wanted to build it with someone with vast experience, whom she trusted. Citing Slattery’s record with Elizabeth and James, Cinq à Sept and Likely, Taylor

Nick Graham to Create Special Space-Themed Bomber

Nick Graham’s love affair with space is continuing.
The designer, who hosted a celestial-themed fashion show that featured Buzz Aldrin as one of the models, has now stepped up to sponsor the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing during a gala celebration at Kennedy Space Center on July 16.
Graham has created a limited-edition bomber jacket that will be sold to raise funds for the Aldrin Family Foundation. The jackets come in silver metallic and black and feature an interior lining featuring the launch of the Saturn 5, a rocket that took astronauts to space between 1967 and 1973. The jackets will retail for $150 and will be available at the Gala as well as at Fred Segal.
As part of the Gala, Graham will also be presenting the “Nick Graham Galactic Couture” award for best-dressed attendee.
“2019 is definitely the year of space,” Graham said, “and it’s thrilling to be in the center of that universe, so to speak. To put it in fashion industry terms: ‘Space is the new black.’”
In addition to his space-themed show, Graham also has an ongoing collection of bow ties with Bill Nye the Science Guy, whose latest collection features astronauts and space suits. This summer, Graham
