TMR Cederna’s fine linings are synonym of prestige, tradition and progress from more than a century.
Since 1815 TMR Cederna Fodere has been the leader in terms of “know-how” in the linings industry: a key figure during the industrial revolution. The company had already made a name for itself with its practical articles in the days when cotton yarns ran through mechanised shuttle looms. As it mastered processes and product performance, the company gradually began to apply cellulose fibres, which had been the focus of its work developing innovative processes, investing in productive technologies and product specialisation since the 1930’s.
Its evolution was finally consecrated by the boom of industrial manufacturing starting in the 1950’s and more recently, by the birth of prêt-a-porter and the success of Italian fashion all over the world.
The company has continued to face the most recent challenges of the market with the same courage and determination, culminating in the 1999 merge of two major companies in the industry: TMR from Gallarate and Cederna Fodere from Milan, conceling the expertise respectively in the womenswear and menswear lining production, to create an enterprise on an unmatched scale. Always respecting our heritage values and craftmanship but with a keen eye on innovation.
Every lining is the result of in-depth progressive market surveys aimed at identifying the patterns, weaves and colours that will be in vogue next season.
Fashion specialists collect information on emerging trends and pass them on to a laboratory team capable of translating trends and sneak previews into fashionable, appealing linings.
More than 200 different colours are available for each product, with an immediate stock service, making TMR Cederna’s production popular within a demanding clientele aware of their precise requirements.
THE TMR CEDERNA COLLECTION
Linings of different gram weights meet different requirements for different seasons, while coordinated patterns customise garments with all-over patterns or woven motifs, stripes or cashmere designs in different sizes. In addition to the 2300 colours available as samples, the company can match customers’ samples and reproduce company logos and designer logos on jacquard fabrics made of 100% viscose, 100% cupro, viscose-cupro, viscose-acetate and viscose-Pbt.
100% cellulose acetate linings have a particularly soft, delicate feel.
100% cupro linings offer a silk-like feel with good fit and are non-toxic, non-allergenic and transpiring.
100% viscose linings have a soft feel and look like silk. They offer good resistance to wear and good hygroscopic capacity.
Acetate-cotton blends are washable and transpiring. Cellulose acetate breathes well, while cotton strengthens the fabric.
Acetate-viscose blends combine the excellent performance of cellulose acetate with that of viscose for a soft fabric that is comfortable to wear.
Nylon-cotton blends are particularly strong, lightweight and transpiring. They combine the resistance of nylon with the ability to breathe, strength and washability of cotton.
