The Lukas Meindl GmbH & Co. KG has produced boots of highest quality for many generations. It began as one shoe maker and is now a company which looks back on 300 years of tradition and experience. Lukas and Lars Meindl are the 9th generation running the business. Meindl is at home all over the world but has never forgotten on its root’s- which are in Kirchanschöring in the Chiemgau area of Bavaria with a view of the Berchtesgadener and Chiemgauer Alps. Today around 250 people work at the head office in Kirchanschöring, where traditional shoe making craftsmanship and the sense of innovation are unified. To produce boots is much more for Meindl than just a business, it is our passion- and this is visible to the smallest detail. Over 200 steps are needed, exact visual judgement and long experience, to produce a Meindl boot. Meindl means high quality hiking and mountaineering boots, on which many mountain sportsmen rely on all over the world.
