Ryan Lo was nostalgic for the Nineties, looking for fall to hip-hop music and skater culture, and introducing a collaboration with Hello Kitty.
“This season is about being true to my teenage years,” said Lo, describing his woman as fun, sexy and cute. “It’s almost like a weird Asian take on American culture. It’s about Nineties hip-hop.”
He sent out a sassy, playful lineup featuring tropical hues and original prints. Organza dresses and one- shouldered gowns came with Hello Kitty motifs, floral and camouflage patterns. Floor-sweeping dresses were styled with white T-shirts for a skater chic vibe.
Elsewhere, a knee-skimming dress with elbow-length sleeves came with a red-and-pink tropical leaf pattern and a small rosette trim on the sleeves and hem.
Hip-hop influences came via an oversized graphic knit cardigan in bright pink, blue and white worn over pink camouflage trousers. Models in trainers strutted down the catwalk to hip-hop music.
Lo collaborated with Stephen Jones on the floppy hats, which came in a camo print or bubble gum pink.
