Police bust 2 suspected illegal gambling halls in Fullerton, 1 man arrested

FULLERTON — One man was arrested and several video game machines allegedly used for gambling purposes were seized during a search of two video game businesses on Wednesday, Aug. 2, authorities said.

The Fullerton Police Department seized 11 video gaming machines from a business in the 2600 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue and additional machines — the total there was not specified — at a video gaming lounge near the intersection of Gilbert Street and Commonwealth Avenue, Sgt. Jon Radus said.

One man was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal gaming devices, Radus said. The man’s identity was not provided Wednesday.

Police issued the search warrant after an extensive investigation in conjunction with the Department of Justice determined that the businesses were operating illegal gambling halls, Radus said.

Authorities had also received numerous complaints from residents and businesses in the area of the video gaming businesses about an increase in crimes such as theft, burglaries, drug-related crimes, gang activity, and prostitution since the businesses opened up, Radus said.

An investigation is ongoing.

Jenna Dewan Tatum Debuts Danskin’s Intimates Line in Fall 2017 Ads

Danskin on Wednesday will debut its fall 2017 “Fit for Everything” campaign featuring brand ambassador Jenna Dewan Tatum wearing its debut collection of intimates and loungewear.
“What’s really exciting to me about our ‘Fit for Everything’ campaign is that it’s so true to how I live my life. Dressing for day-to-night became a necessity when I became a mom, and I wear my Danskin from taking my daughter to school, to running errands, to date night or girl’s night out. We really wanted to capture that essence in this shoot,” said Dewan Tatum, who is a producer and host of NBC’s “World of Dance.”
Yu Tsai shot the campaign at a seaside Malibu, Calif., mansion, with Dewan Tatum practicing yoga on the balcony in leggings, relaxing in a bodysuit and joggers in the kitchen, and lounging in a coordinating bralette and high-waisted panty set. The actress-dancer was also photographed doing a “tree pose” on the beach while wearing an olive-toned leotard with laser-cut details. Danskin will also debut sleepwear and shapewear this fall.
“As an entrepreneur and mom-on-the-go, Jenna truly exemplifies the modern spirit of our fall collection, which is designed to meet the needs of Danskin’s contemporary consumer, whose wardrobe needs to

Bridget Foley’s Diary: Josie’s Way

Fashion’s list of long-haul independents is short, the status hard to achieve and harder still to maintain. Among the most notable: Dries Van Noten, Anna Sui and Derek Lam, each in his and her own way both realist and iconoclast.
Josie Natori merits a place on the roster alongside those more obvious names. On Tuesday night she celebrated the Natori Co.’s 40th anniversary with a cocktail party for 250 people including friends, business associates and Natori staffers. It was an event both elegant and understated, much like the woman, whose intense expectations of herself and others are not prone to the kind of rampant self-congratulation that has become au courant in the social-media age. It’s not that she’s given to false modesty, but whether by nature or nurture (most likely a combination of the two), she finds obvious self-celebration tacky.
Yet 40 years is indeed an accomplishment, one even Natori couldn’t let go. Thus, in the lead-up to her fall 2017 collection, she enlisted filmmaker Tim Braun to create a film, which debuted at the party — as chic as it was hastily arranged, Natori having gone back and forth about whether to mark the occasion before ultimately deciding in the affirmative.
