Meghan King Edmonds is leaving “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”
“Today is a bittersweet day for me,” she wrote on Instagram, referring fans to the announcement on her Bravo TV blog.
Reaction was overwhelmingly supportive.
“I think you made the right choice! Good for you! Enjoy your family and your Little’s while you can💗 we will miss you!!!” wrote one fan.
“Congrats on the twins and i wish you and your family nothing but the best. St Louis welcomes you with open arms,” another said.
Edmonds is married to former baseball player Jim Edmonds. They have a toddler, Aspen, and are expecting twin boys.
Jim Edmonds, who once played for the Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs and other teams, is a broadcaster at Fox Sports Midwest.
Meghan Edmonds, a “Housewives” cast member for three seasons, described her third season this way on the blog:
“I had a newborn and had to hire a full time live-in nanny (my cousin) so as to allow me the flexibility to meet my obligations of continuous days and long hours of filming, traveling, etc. When I was home I was a full time hands-on mom (you didn’t get to see this) doing all the regular mom stuff including waking up at all hours to breast feed my baby – all while my husband worked his crazy baseball schedule around the US while I was learning how to be a first time mom … I was hormonal and EXHAUSTED.”
She added, “As I was filming the season 12 reunion I knew in my heart I was done: this wasn’t my place anymore.”
The couple will build a home in the midwest, she wrote. They’re expecting the twins this June.
“I guess it’s time for me to become an actual real housewife of sorts.” she wrote. “Oh, the irony!”
The Edmonds sold their Newport Beach home in June 2017 at just under $3 million.
