The MP brand was born in 1965 with a collection of Italian vegetable leather handbags manufactured in Portugal
The quality of the handcrafted workmanship is visible in every detail. Shapes, fittings, pockets, handle, are thoughtfully designed to provide maximum efficiency, comfort and style. Leathers and materials are meticulously selected honoring the tradition of reaching MP quality standards.
In 1996 the first Marta Ponti collection was launched, with suitcases with a young design associating leathers and traditional finishes giving each suitcase an incomparable quality and distinction.
Currently, MP and Marta Ponti are reference marks in Portugal for leather accessories, including bags, briefcases and small leather goods. Despite many changes, since 1965 our essence has remained the same.
History
1965: Company is founded, launching the brand MP, based on Peixoto Soares family history and tradition on leather goods since at least 19th century
1991: Participation in worldwide exhibitions (Milan, Madrid, Hong Kong, Offenbach, London) begins
1998: Opening Showroom in Brussels
2002: Opening Showroom in Birminghan
