Body found in area where Murrieta woman went missing

A body of a woman has been found in the area near where a Murrieta woman was reported to have gone missing last week, authorities said Monday, Sept. 4.

The body was found Friday evening near the Tenaja Falls trailhead, Riverside County sheriff’s Deputy Armando Munoz said. He said the body has not yet been positively identified; an autopsy is pending.

Last Monday, Murrieta resident Jennifer Kinsella-Grindle, 41, a mother of three teenage children, went missing after leaving for a hike on the Tenaja Trail. She never returned home, according to authorities and friends.

Deputies brought a bloodhound to the area, but the dog lost Kinsella-Grindle’s scent halfway down the trail. She was last seen wearing brown shorts, an Army green tank top, and flip-flop sandals, according to authorities and friends.

Kinsella-Grindle’s purse and cell phone were found along the trail, near where she had parked her vehicle, authorities said.
