COMMENCEMENT CANCELED AT PRATT: In response to the worsening pandemic in New York and globally, Pratt Institute has nixed its commencement ceremony that was planned for May 16 at Radio City Music Hall. Students, who complete their requirements for graduation, will earn their degrees and will receive their diplomas, according to a statement issued by a Pratt spokeswoman.
The event would have been the school’s 131st commencement ceremony. Last year’s event honored 1,200 graduating students at the famed venue. It was not immediately known how many students this year’s cancellation is expected to affect.
Like secondary schools and colleges around the country, Pratt also awards honorary degrees to leaders in arts and designs. Those honorary recipients have not yet been revealed.
In addition, Pratt has canceled its annual fashion show, which was slated for May 7, and the Design Show, which was slated for May 13 to 18. Lastly, Pratt will not be holding its Awards Convocation on May 15 as planned. All of the decisions are in accordance with New York City’s restrictions on public gatherings.

It didn’t come as a huge surprise Tuesday morning when Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, revealed on Instagram that he would not return to the team for the 2020 season. It had been rumored for months that Brady, who had been with the Patriots for 20 years, would exit after the two could not come to an agreement on a contract extension at the end of last season. As a result, he will test the free agent market to see which other teams might be interested in signing him. That process officially begins Wednesday and the top contenders include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Over the years, the athlete, who has a propensity for Tom Ford suits and a supermodel wife, has amassed quite a few sponsorships with everyone from Under Armour to Uggs. Most recently, he’s been associated with IWC Schaffhausen, the Swiss luxury time maker owned by Compagnie Financière Richemont, as well as Aston Martin.
And while it’s unknown where he may end up in terms of his football future, the 42-year-old will undoubtedly still continue to be a megastar.
On Tuesday, Under Armour, which signed Brady as an ambassador back in 2010, said its

MILAN — The city of Milan and the Lombardy region have been hit the hardest by the coronavirus outbreak in Italy, reporting 14,649 who tested positive for the virus and 1,420 dead as of Monday. So much so that a new hospital dedicated to patients affected by COVID-19 is being set up in the former fairgrounds in Milan. The hospital is expected to feature more than 400 intensive care units.
The Lombardy region and Fondazione Fiera Milano have already begun to set up the space and the hospital, covering 270,000 square feet, is expected to be ready in about 10 days.
Help is already flocking in. Moncler is donating 10 million euros to the project. “Milan is a city that has given us all an extraordinary [life],” said Moncler chairman and chief executive officer Remo Ruffini. “We cannot and must not abandon it. It is everyone’s duty to give back to the city what it has given us so far. I have expressed to the councilor Giulio Gallera the will to work on this great project from the moment it was imagined and now that there are reasonable certainties on the feasibility, we are ready to support it. I am sure that the
